DOWSING:

What is the ancient art of dowsing ?

Everyone has heard of the water diviner at some stage or other but the art of divining itself, goes far back into the dim and distant past. Ancient shamanic peoples were highly sensitive to change in their environment. In the absence of modern technology, they learned to rely completely on their own powers of observation and sensitivity and on those of the animals, which were studied in great detail. They knew that everything had a distinctive energy field associated with it. It is their methods of finding and reading these fields which have come down to us as dowsing or divining. Until very recently every locality had at least one diviner to locate the water lines for wells. These talents were also put to a myriad of other tasks, from seeking missing animals and resolving petty crime, to finding lost objects, minerals and ores. Today, divining skills are also used in widely varied disciplines, from finding water and searches, through to allergy testing, homeopathy and medical diagnosis.

How does dowsing work?

Dowsing teaches us how to use a few simple tools to emphasis special small movements in the hand. These movements occur automatically as our bodies sense the subtle energies emitted by everything around us. How this process actually works is still a mystery though it's reliability has surely been proven countless times through the diviner's ability to locate underground water, etc.

Why is dowsing useful ?

Dowsing skills are useful because they give us a quick reliable method of answering a great many questions. And, although the divining method is always the same, the information received can be as wide and varied as you like, since it largely depends on the nature of the questions which are asked.
